Professor Crookston is a crop and soil scientist. He has held academic positions at Cornell University, the University of Minnesota, and Brigham Young University (BYU). He has consulted extensively in the area of international rural development, and was resident coordinator on a U.S. State Department project in Morocco for two years. He has been a university administrator for 25 years, including terms as department head, and dean. He researches, publishes, and teaches leadership and decision making, and extends his findings to universities and groups in the U.S. and internationally. Crookston currently directs a program of support and training for academic administrators at BYU.
